You may want to start your reading in the Gospel of John. (it is the Good News of Jesus Christ relayed by John an eyewitness to Christ's Ministry on Earth.

Next you may want to read Genesis. It is the Account of Creation. We learn of the Fall of man as temptation enters. We get an early insight into the Lord making provision for our sin.
God's Plan to Provide for our sin is pictured in Genesis 22 with Abrahm & Isaac. But the fuller reality is detailed by John (& the other Gospels).
You amy want to re-read JOHN or add Mark, Luke or even Matthew.
the Book of Proverbs will give practical advice on life choices.
